Recently, Bloomberg said that Sony has nixed some features it had planned for an unnamed future mirrorless camera model (could be Sony a7IV or a7SIII) due to the scarcity of certain hardware, namely DRAM and NAND flash memory. Sony is currently focus their limited DRAM resources for the new PS5 production.
Update: Nokishita Camera has confirmed that this wide-angle prime lens is FE 20mm f/1.8 G Lens (SEL20F18G).
Germany website Digitalkamera.de has leaked the upcoming Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 lens (SEL20F18F) for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras. This lens is expected to have similar price and design as Sony FE 35mm f/1.8 lens.
According to a new rumors around the web, Sony is going to announce a new fast wide-angle prime lens in late February, probably on February 25th, 2020. This new FE prime lens should be a GM lens, rumors said this lens will probably the Sony FE 18mm f/1.8 GM lens.
As already rumored before, in the first half of 2020, Sony is expected to announce a new wide-angle zoom lens. Now according to SAR, this new lens will be the Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM lens. The officially announcement for this lens is expected in the Spring of 2020.
The CP+ show 2020 will be held on February 27th to March 1st, Tamron has announced that they will attend the CP+ 2020. During CP+ 2020, you will be able to touch and try the Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD lens. Tamron may also announced the official price and release date of this lens.
Sigma UK has officially announced that they will attend the upcoming CP+ 2020 during February 27th to March 1st. Sigma may announce the previous rumored Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN Sports lens for Sony E-mount.
Sigma has just filed a series of new FE DG DN lens patents for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras. All these lens patents are fast wide-angle prime lenses: 16mm f/2 DG DN, 18mm f/1.8 DG DN, 18mm f/2 DG DN, 20mm f/1.8 DG DN, 24mm f/1.8 DG DN, 28mm f/1.8 DG DN, 34mm f/1.8 DG DN lenses.
