Sony has just announced that there will be a new product announcement on April 20th, 2020. Just ahead of already cancelled NAB Show 2020. Since NAB show 2020 is video related event, so Sony may finally announce the long awaited Sony a7S III/a7S IV.
DxOMark has tested the sensor new Sony a9 II flagship full frame mirrorless camera. The DxOMark score of a9 II’s sensor is 93, one point above original a9. Compared Canon EOS-1D X Mark II and Nikon D5, a9 II is about 5 point above these cameras.
The long awaited Sony a7 IV full frame mirrorless camera was rumored to be announced at CP+ 2020 in February. Due to Coronavirus, CP+ show 2020 has been cancelled. So when will Sony announce this camera ? According to latest rumors, a7IV is rumored to be available in later this year. While we still has no info about Sony a7S III. Stay tuned.
Recently, Bloomberg said that Sony has nixed some features it had planned for an unnamed future mirrorless camera model (could be Sony a7IV or a7SIII) due to the scarcity of certain hardware, namely DRAM and NAND flash memory. Sony is currently focus their limited DRAM resources for the new PS5 production.
